Nicholas Gerth
Nicholas Gerth has taken over as Commander for the Region 5 Incident Management Team and has updated Team member requirements and the responders and credentialing process. He works with CDMC to provide incident management training throughout the region. Under Nick’s leadership the IMT deployed twice. In 2024; in response to Haiti Relief at Orlando International Airport, and under an EMAC request for the Oklahoma tornadoes. Nick’s leadership has ensured that team members are ready when needed.

Amanda Nixon
Amanda Nixon attended the Stress First Aid train-the-trainer program sponsored by the Coalition in 2022. Since then, she has provided the training to healthcare personnel across Volusia County, including EVAC EMTs/paramedics, dispatchers, social work, and physician interns, and the Nova University cohort of physician assistant students. During 2024, she provided training at Halifax Hospital, the Volusia Parks Department, the Volusia Recovery Alliance, and all three shifts at the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department. Amanda’s dedication to ensuring respond and healthcare personnel access to stress first aid is outstanding!
